End of the road in 2010

So it has been a while again. Uni has finished, passed my subjects and 2 units to go in my degree!

Setup a lab in my home office with an 8 port Asus gigabit switch which is connects my main desktop and my VMware ESXi box called Mistress (cause she is in charged). Upgraded that bad bitch to 8 gigs of ram, Raid 5 with 3 x 160 hard drives and added a second Xeon processor to work twice as hard. Upgraded to 4.1 recently and still tweaking settings to backup files. Was originally using Veeam backup and SCP, but the program is a bit dodgy. So installed a FTP server manually and using SyncbackSE to copy files from there to my backups drive on my desktop, albeit rather slowly over the awesome gigabit switch. No under a megabyte is not enough for everybody....

Working hard at OptiComm and it just keeps getting busier and busier with new things happening and changes to some ways we do things. I got some time off around Xmas which is good and a holiday booked for Feb 2011.

Holiday from 11-18th of Feb and we are invading Melbourne, well the great ocean road via the Spirit of Tasmania. Should be awesome with everything booked, just have to sort out anything else with work and good to go.

Nothing else is really new, just need to hit the gym again in 2011 and rework it into my schedule and improve myself.

So kids, that is it for now and have a good New Years and do not drink too much, especially too much from my bar!

So it has been a while

A year has gone since I updated this. So let me rewind it:

New Job at OptiComm in Tasmania, playing with lasers and fast internet so people can download porn faster. Working with the NBN and bringing services online in Tasmania, first in the nation.

Still at uni, part time and hopefully finish sometime.

New housemate who is a best friend has moved in now.

Single still, but not actively looking.

What did I miss... Oh Gamespace is gone and dusted. It was run into the ground and then killed off. No longer working with Taz-e due to lack of work.

New car that was hit from behind in under 24 hours, best effort really, not my fault :)

Ahh the weekend

Well kids, the weekend was interesting.

First off on Friday night, I remained champion in worms, due to my skills at doing suicide kills with other peoples turns. Then forced to watch Star Trek. I lost my voice due to protests. Also Spock/Sylar is evil!

Saturday was tennis doubles fun. This week it was Nick aka Perseus? and myself taking on Dom aka iSnack 2.0/Tuna etc and Pera aka Zeus and Tennis pro. It was good, best game ever actually, with some amazing shots and even scoring. We eventually prevailed against the weather, frustration and the ecstacy.

Sunday was back to the garden with the help of family and friends, more grass removed, pine bark laid down and sore muscles. At least it looks a lot better.

Oh IT wise, I feel sheepish. Times got all changed, which was sweet, but I had the bright idea to put a Kernel Panic screensaver on my Windows pc, but then my Linux server decided to Kernel Panic on me complete with flashing lights. Fun Fun.

Well I have not written much lately so lets get a recap. Busy with work, busy with uni, assignments are starting to pile up. I am experimenting currently with VMware Server on Linux, but wireless is dodgy. It replaces virtualbox and I can run Linux, Open/FreeBSD with no issues. Seems it will be needed to be a victim of cat 5, but where.

I am the reigning champion of Worms and Bomberman, bass guitarist for The Wookies and I hate gardening. Left 4 Dead DLC should be working tonight, but after Sons of Anarchy, I will give it a try.
