Remember remember the 5th of um....

September, about the gun treason powder plot speech alcohol spillage. I should never forget the 5th of November where a cardinal sin was commited and lots of alcohol was dropped.

Remember, BRT stands for Blackout Restraint Therapy, not be right there.

This is a public message to Agemo and latest news

HARDEN UP!

Do you guys want to see pictures of him?

Other news: I rock at Tekken 6, exams are over, we put a friend into therapy, looking for a new room mate, changing system settings, christmas is almost here and looking for a holiday.

Oh the first iPhone worm guy is a total fag and emo,  also a shitty coder, attention whore and steals code. Do not drop the soap in prison bitch.

All your base are belong to us.

Ahh the weekend

Well kids, the weekend was interesting.

First off on Friday night, I remained champion in worms, due to my skills at doing suicide kills with other peoples turns. Then forced to watch Star Trek. I lost my voice due to protests. Also Spock/Sylar is evil!

Saturday was tennis doubles fun. This week it was Nick aka Perseus? and myself taking on Dom aka iSnack 2.0/Tuna etc and Pera aka Zeus and Tennis pro. It was good, best game ever actually, with some amazing shots and even scoring. We eventually prevailed against the weather, frustration and the ecstacy.

Sunday was back to the garden with the help of family and friends, more grass removed, pine bark laid down and sore muscles. At least it looks a lot better.

Oh IT wise, I feel sheepish. Times got all changed, which was sweet, but I had the bright idea to put a Kernel Panic screensaver on my Windows pc, but then my Linux server decided to Kernel Panic on me complete with flashing lights. Fun Fun.

the testament of pitikanobley!

Well I have not written much lately so lets get a recap. Busy with work, busy with uni, assignments are starting to pile up. I am experimenting currently with VMware Server on Linux, but wireless is dodgy. It replaces virtualbox and I can run Linux, Open/FreeBSD with no issues. Seems it will be needed to be a victim of cat 5, but where.

I am the reigning champion of Worms and Bomberman, bass guitarist for The Wookies and I hate gardening. Left 4 Dead DLC should be working tonight, but after Sons of Anarchy, I will give it a try.

More soon kids! Oh and peace out to the aglomplompian and moppoloid.

The lols of the banks - Why oh why

Most banks run a simple system for tellers or ATMS.. but no. Today I was getting some lunch in Bellerive on my way home when I thought damn, I need some cash. Closest machine was an ANZ machine. But it had an error and was blocking the screen. Good old Windows background programs.

Maybe it was monitoring our habits? Did some break in? No it just died, as it does sometimes. Makes you wonder though, any machine that is valuable or mission critical should be looked at with security in mind and reliability. Windows is nowhere near as reliable as some, but if it gets infected with a virus like some other atms have, money can literally be made or transferred..

Slacking off - where has the time gone?

Waiting for a meeting so I am having lunch at the placemy sister manage, Rendevouz cafe in Salamanca (really good food and fast service).

Ukkofc is now on ranked in google and so is this blog (metawords man.)

Assignment work is catching up and annoying, while the life of brian is a geatmovie classic.

This post is dedicated to agemO.

Downtime - relaxation and broken stuff

Well the weekends here. Couldnt sleep past 8, did nothing all day and one of my best mates is back from his trip into Germany/USA. Have not broken anything since last weeks install of a new HP Proliant server in a clients business (break as in my boss cutting my telephone cable for testing etc) yet the Linux box is still broken...

Other news, uni assignment and presentation time is here for a game we are going to make a prototype out of called Project: Rubicon which will be done shortly for Tuesday.

Planning on a beard shave and a nice haircut sometime Monday or Tuesday and to work on others.. yay.

Till next time or tomorrow

Sweet secret recipe

A change for today. Here is my own secret style of cooking.

I tend to call this the easy home cooked meal. Easy as in heat rice for 2 minutes and prepare other things slowly. Today is the Singaporean Australian Satay Rissoles with Rice.

Get your rissoles and cut up into quarters. Put in a saucepan and cook slowly, once done cook rice in the microwave and pour satay sauce on the rissoles. Make a bed of rice, and pour the cooked rissoles. Best served with a friend.

Tech side: Ubuntu hates my Linux machines wireless card, have to figure out a new tactic for it. Never fear, the eee pc is still working :)

Fun times - Announcing Ukko File Cloud or Ukko FC for short.

I feel like I am lacking in some sleep and sleeping in recently, also a bit of a hard time getting to sleep. Anyway, technology is always good to learn, reuse and so forth. Created a site for our Ukko File Cloud project so we can work on it. Basically it was a Digital Resource Management System for a small training centre called APW and was requested to be done for Software Engineering project at uni last year. We deicded that it is good software and decided to further develop it recently. So purchasing ukkofc.com we can continue to work on it and get interest from people to use our software. We are still rebrnading and changing the project over, but slowly getting there and it is for a passion with friends to continue this like we did last year. Ukko actually is the Finnish God of Thunder in Finnish Mythology, sort of like Zeus in Greek mythology. Lots more work to be done while everyone juggles uni, work and a social life.

When the system fails - a tale of lovehatetragedy etc

So I got a new domain name for a project we are doing and used godaddy to sign up for it. They took my money with ease and it is there on whois. Time to setup the nameservers for the site, which will be hosted on www.eightyoptions.com.au (shameless plug ;)). Failure to set it. Page cannot be found, huh? System is broken. Logged in and out, no dice.

So here I am using Opera under Windows having issues to change this last tiny detail. Guess Opera hate ASP as much as I do. Call up support and get talking with a Yankee and he tells me to try IE7 (not 8, it is too broken). So I try it, click on the page and wallah. It actually works to my amazement. Set the details and log back in using Opera and what do you know, it works... I smell a helpdesk quick fix on the account issue after he dodged my question of why it would not redirect. That and the ads are insane. So here we are, waiting for the nameserver to update and to see my new creation spring to life. That is what Ukko was about, but more details in due course. Now its time for L4D.

Just had another look, the domain dashboard is gone which did lead to the error page and the problem, I knew it was something fishy :)

That is all there is to know at this point.

Weekend super fun times

Just how I like it. Hang with friends, beat people in Tekken using Bryan Fury and quiet. Linux box still needs some love and so does the house. Meeting soon and if you are reading this Timoshii, WAKE UP, you are buying drinks for the meeting. Technology wise, Facebook is dirty. They want to use YOUR photos for advertising. Imagine it, your photo is used for a matchmaking service, endorsing Microsoft or Apple products or worse... endorsing Maccas. This is a common status around:

FACEBOOK has agreed to let a third party advertisers use your posted pictures WITHOUT your permission. Click on SETTINGS up at the top where you see the Log out link. Select Privacy. Then select NEWSFEEDS and WALL. Next select the tab that reads FACEBOOK ADS. There is a drop down box, select NO ONE. Then SAVE your changes. (REPOST to let your friends know!)

I do not remember opting in for this feature... Maybe they will get a clue when people start leaving. I AM NOT ENDORSING MACCAS! But I will endorse Hobart for a small fee, please get in touch :)

Wireless - joys and fun of the Linux box called Geskirov

So it is all working, except it decides that the wireless network only supports wep. I found this problem before, but forgot how to fix it. So before I bash it in, I will try again later today. It is only good to vnc into and to run digs/whois whenever I do network stuff for work and some LAMP testing. Oh what fun..

Other news: Missed the gym as I was waiting for the new Leverage show, if you like a show where criminals do good, I suggest you have a look on google, it is quite good. Also yay for the weekend :D

Linux

I have a headless box. Behind the tv with only the power going in. The bastard does not want to turn on and connect via the wireless network. It was originally going for hard drive upgrades and ram, just got more ram instead, do not think virtual machines will run on a 512 base system... Anyone care to donate to the cause of fosh (free open source hardware?) Back to the main part, why did Geskirov die? Looks like I have to bring it up stairs for dissection. Hope it is not a loose cable..

Welcome

Now that I have this up, I would like to welcome you to the Gospel according to me.

More to come after the break.
