The lols of the banks - Why oh why

Most banks run a simple system for tellers or ATMS.. but no. Today I was getting some lunch in Bellerive on my way home when I thought damn, I need some cash. Closest machine was an ANZ machine. But it had an error and was blocking the screen. Good old Windows background programs.

Maybe it was monitoring our habits? Did some break in? No it just died, as it does sometimes. Makes you wonder though, any machine that is valuable or mission critical should be looked at with security in mind and reliability. Windows is nowhere near as reliable as some, but if it gets infected with a virus like some other atms have, money can literally be made or transferred..

Downtime - relaxation and broken stuff

Well the weekends here. Couldnt sleep past 8, did nothing all day and one of my best mates is back from his trip into Germany/USA. Have not broken anything since last weeks install of a new HP Proliant server in a clients business (break as in my boss cutting my telephone cable for testing etc) yet the Linux box is still broken...

Other news, uni assignment and presentation time is here for a game we are going to make a prototype out of called Project: Rubicon which will be done shortly for Tuesday.

Planning on a beard shave and a nice haircut sometime Monday or Tuesday and to work on others.. yay.

Till next time or tomorrow

Sweet secret recipe

A change for today. Here is my own secret style of cooking.

I tend to call this the easy home cooked meal. Easy as in heat rice for 2 minutes and prepare other things slowly. Today is the Singaporean Australian Satay Rissoles with Rice.

Get your rissoles and cut up into quarters. Put in a saucepan and cook slowly, once done cook rice in the microwave and pour satay sauce on the rissoles. Make a bed of rice, and pour the cooked rissoles. Best served with a friend.

Tech side: Ubuntu hates my Linux machines wireless card, have to figure out a new tactic for it. Never fear, the eee pc is still working :)
